“2020 PwC CSR Impact Award” was presented in Taipei on 11th November. This award is co-organized by PwC sustainable service and Taiwan official representative for Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Taiwan Fu Hsing (TFH) caught the jury's attention by presenting the CSR project film centered on migrant workers issue- Taiwan Fu Hsing BetterUp Project. This issue meets requirements of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for “reducing inequality” and “ending poverty”, so TFH wins The Third Prize in its first time to join this competition.

“PwC CSR Impact Award” has been considered as the Oscar for Taiwan CSR film competition. The purpose of the award is to “make good use of a story and create influence.” It encourages enterprise to merge their own business model with the spirit of CSR, and deliver cases to the public by filming making, arousing more positive energy to the society. Entries have multiple this year and there are total 18 enterprise and 19 works that are nominated, which included industries such as finance, telecommunication, information service, retail, food and so on. TFH is not only the representative of manufacturing industry, but also the only enterprise taking care of migrant workers as the project. Jury recognized that TFH “chose a special topic, and the image establishes empathy successfully.” This can “encourage more enterprises to provide solutions for migrant workers.”

TFH has cooperated with migrant workers for more than 10 years. We've worked together with a non-profit organization for migrant workers education – One-Forty in 2019 to plan courses for migrant workers and built up online learning club. At the same time, TFH provided funding through The Dream Project to encourage its migrant workers to chase their dreams bravely when they worked in Taiwan. Until 2020, there have been more than 140 migrant workers participating in the project and 3 of them have received the funding to fulfill their dreams.

“The power to move forward is not by a person doing a lot, but by every person doing a little” said the Chief Culture Officer of TFH during the acceptance speech. As the pioneer for providing migrant workers training courses, TFH is pleased to see more enterprises think about solutions for migrant workers together. This can bring more tolerance and understanding, and facilitate more diverse and equal society for Taiwan.
