Over the years, the Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of the Kaohsiung Film Archive, dedicated to advancing audiovisual education. This year, they have jointly introduced the "Visual Storytelling Teaching Aid Kit" to empower children to narrate stories through film, thus driving the diverse development of education.

The Kaohsiung Film Archive unveiled “Barkley the Cat”, a new and practical visual storytelling teaching aid kit in 2023. It takes the concept of film and makes it hands-on for educational purposes, allowing students to immerse themselves in the world of films. Starting this February, it is open for applications by upper-grade elementary and junior high school teachers in Kaohsiung City, initiating a two-year promotional plan. Teachers have at their disposal the entire set of teaching aids featuring Barkley the Cat, as well as teaching activities, film-related articles, and learning assignments from the Kaohsiung Film Archive. The abundant contents enable teachers to deliver diverse and interactive lessons, and allow students to actively participate and improve their learning capabilities. The teaching aid helps create engaging and enriching classroom experiences, arousing curiosity and motivation among students. By improving their visual literacy, it paves the way for deeper engagement with the subject matter.

The Kaohsiung Film Archive bears the responsibility of promoting audiovisual education in southern Taiwan by exposing children to the aesthetics of film and cultivating their ability to appreciate movies. By making film-watching a channel for inspiration and aesthetic exploration, the Archive aims to encourage critical thinking and artistic engagement among young audiences. In addition, Kaohsiung Film Archive has been broadening children's horizons through initiatives such as the Kaohsiung Film Festival, "tn̂g té Cinema", and film elective courses. Following the success of the "Film Aesthetics Education Materials", the Archive continue its core mission of integrating film art into schools by unveiling an exciting new hands-on teaching resource, “Barkley the Cat”. By taking the concept of film and makes it hands-on for educational purposes, it has received high recognition from the education community.

LIN Yi-cheng, CEO of Taiwan Fu Hsing Culture & Education Foundation, said at the press conference that the Foundation has been making continuous efforts in the fields of "culture and art", "education and training", and "sports promotion". Through educational activities, it has empowered schoolchildren to change their lives. The Foundation and the Kaohsiung Film Archive are entering their 5th year of cooperation, and she is particularly fond of the various film "handicraft classes" developed by the Archive, which introduce film knowledge and film rolls with handicraft activities, and promote experimental spirit. Teachers support schoolchildren in experiencing the creation, which impresses her greatly. The "Visual Storytelling Teaching Aid Kit" introduced this year and DIY filmmaking classes have similar ideas. They both encourage creative learning within the educational experience to enrich students' abilities. By providing free access to primary and middle school teachers, it aligns with Fu Hsing’s philosophy in education and training. Looking ahead, we anticipate that through corporate support, film education can reach all corners of Kaohsiung, fostering diverse educational growth.
