As the 6th campaign of “Lose Weight, Send Love” of Taiwan Fu Hsing came to an end on January 14, the 32 participants of the campaign have lost a total of 278kg. In keeping the Company’s promise of donating as much as the number of kilograms eliminated by the campaign, Taiwan Fu Hsing donated 300 new books to National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) and Kaohsiung Public Library, Gangshan branch, in response to the city library’s call for “Send a Book Home” to encourage reading.

To let the campaign’s participants pick up books by themselves, Taiwan Fu Hsing invited TaKaoBooks in support of the event, creating a pop-up bookshop loaded with over 400 books in its multifunctional sports field. In addition, the Company launched an exchange of second-hand books for spring couplets written by colleagues skilled in calligraphy. Beyond the Company’s expectation, the large crowd included workers who did not participate in the weight loss campaign but ended up having fun and bought in new books.

Since 2015, Taiwan Fu Hsing has been organizing a weight loss campaign to help its employees maintain a healthy body. In the campaign, nutritionists and coaches are invited to talk about the right concept about eating and taking care of one’s body. One-to-one fitness program and nutrition consultancy are also available. The weight loss competition boosts people’s motivation to work out and cash in trophy money. What’s more, Taiwan Fu Hsing supports the health cause without neglecting public welfare: for the first few years the campaign has donated grocery, household provisions and furnitures; since 2017, the Company is turning the goods into food for thought by sending books to libraries such that more people can enjoy reading.
